NC Senate Apologizes for Slavery... But this Tar Heel Does Not!

Yesterday, April 5th, 2007, the North Carolina Senate passed a Bill apologizing for Slavery in the Name of the North Carolina people.

I am furious!

I had no forewarning that the Senate was even considering such a bill. Had I known, I would have lobbied against it with all my might.

The NC House of Representatives has put off action on the Bill until after the Easter Break. I have no doubt, however, the House, upon their return to Raleigh, will pass the Bill.

Now, understand this: I own no slaves. I have never owned any slaves and I refuse to share in the guilt some politically correct politician, weighted down with liberal guilt, feels he must saddle me with. I reject it. Period.

Here is the text of the message I sent to my Representative to the NC House yesterday as soon as I learned what the NC Senate had done:

“Dear Representative:

I cannot express the depth of my disappointment in the NC Senate's action to officially apologize for Slavery! I'd like to ask you NOT to vote for such a measure in the NC House.

Sir, I remain unapologetic for an act I did not commit, nor partake in. I hold no slaves now, nor have I ever. I feel no guilt for something I did not do, and I refuse to accept the guilt of anyone else who may be burdened with it.

I am convinced that by passing such an acknowledgement of "statewide guilt" the NC Legislature has tarnished my name, and the names of all the people of the state. Not only that, but I feel such an act, by the Legislature, opens the door for future actions whereby reparations for slavery will be asked of the people of this state for an act they (the current population) did not commit. In effect, sir, the actions of the NC Legislature hold the current population of this state liable for the "sins of the fathers". That, sir, is unconscionable!

Representative, such an action by the Legislature is a judgment of our ancestors by today's standards... rather than by the standards of their time. Please remember that slavery was legal, and constitutionally protected, in the entire United States. I daresay our ancestors would view our murder of millions of babies, by abortion, just as abhorrent as 21st century North Carolinians find holding another human being in bondage. I refuse to judge them for their actions then... because it is hypocritical for me to do so. To apologize in the name of all the people of the state, without a statewide referendum, is equally as hypocritical for the NC Legislature.

Sir, I respectfully ask that you NOT support such a Bill in the NC House when you reconvene after the Easter break.

I am deeply shamed by the action of the NC Senate, which chose to tar my name with their action in passing a Bill, which, in effect, has me apologizing for something I did not do!

Respectfully,”

It seems no elective body in this country has escaped being infected with the Political Correctness Bug. It is a malady, which once contracted, is fatal. As I have said over and over, Political Correctness is nothing but old-fashioned Marxism by another name.

The NC Legislature has screwed the pooch on this one. Next will come a bill for reparations for slavery and the can of worms that will open. I mean, who, exactly, is descended from slaves... and who, exactly, is descended from slave owners. Huh? There are no human beings on the earth today who cannot point to ancestors, in their past, who were slaves.

I am deeply shamed by the actions of the NC legislature. Deeply, deeply, shamed.

Religion in America is At Odds with Christians!

Religion in America at Odds with Christians ?
_____________________
Reared in a devout Southern Baptist home, switching to Lutheran, in my mid twenties, I am grounded in the mainline Christian faith.

I believe the same things I believed when I was 20, or 40, or 60 years of age. Yet the church does not. The church has continued to give ground to Political Correctness, which is rooted in godless Marxism.

Good and evil cannot co-exist for long. According to Christ, Himself, “man cannot serve two masters”. So, YOU decide if the church YOU are a part of is serving God, or serving Mammon. I decided mine was serving the latter, and so, as instructed in the scriptures, I got out.
”The Church” (meaning the Christian Church) will have a humongous list of infractions to answer for on Judgment day.

The Great Reformer Martin Luther had a lot of things wrong. BUT, he had more right than he had wrong. I have great admiration for Bro. Martin. He saw what he believed to be a corrupt church and decided to do something about it. The 2nd greatest Christian movement in history happened as a result of Bro. Martin’s actions.

The Christian community of the world desperately needs another Martin Luther. Our church has been hi-jacked, and splintered, and fractured, into numerous groups always at each other’s throats. In all its ecumenical struggles the church has lost it’s way. That, alone is bad enough, but what is worse, is that the leaders of the church have no interest in taking the church back to the correct path as outlined in the scriptures.

You see… we have created a hierarchy in our churches that has become drunk on raw power. To take the Christian Church back, to the way Christ intended, threatens the power of those in places of authority in our mainline denominations.

When the hierarchy of a mainline denomination takes a church body away from the dictates of God’s word and celebrates one of the worse sins mentioned in the scriptures, a sin so evil it was referred to, in the scriptures, as an abomination, a sin so grievous that the punishment for it was death, then, Dear Reader, I need no further evidence that I, as a Christian, have no business in that body.

The evidence is right before our faces and yet… rather than “rock the boat” and stand for the dictates of God’s word, the average Christian in America, indeed, in the world, had rather sit quietly in the pews on Sundays, and watch as the house which had formerly belonged to God, is slowly pulled down to the level of the lowest common denominator in society today.

But… you see, it is much easier to do nothing.

The mainline Christian churches in America today, in my opinion, are too far-gone to save. We need a new reformation. We need a leader to pull the Christians together who are sick at what their churches have become and organize us into a force for good in this world.

Look, Dear Reader, when a mainline church pulls that venerable old Hymn “Onward Christian Soldiers” from the hymnal and bans it from the music of that church, you have to know that the church has yielded the field of battle to the opposition.

When leaders of a congregation, or leaders of a denomination, are no longer required to set a moral example, and a spiritual example, for the followers of that denomination to aspire to… then that congregation has failed… that denomination has failed. It becomes a cancer eating away at the church, as a whole, until it has taken it beyond the point or resuscitation.

But, Dear Reader, one has to want to change for there to be real change. The church is showing no signs of a desire to mend its ways. None. On the contrary it is becoming more “apostate” every day.

We who dare to call ourselves Christian, today, must take stock of where we are, as a church, and what we are doing. It is long past time to assert ourselves and reclaim our Christian heritage, our places of worship, and most importantly, the “Great Commission” given us by Christ himself as he left this world in our care.

When a frustrated Joshua stood before the Israelites, who were in a similar situation, we, as a church, find ourselves in today. He uttered the words, which echo down through eternity and resound of the walls of every house of God around the world: “Choose ye, this day, whom you will serve! … As for me, and my house, we will serve the Lord!”

We, as Christians, need to listen to the words of Joshua today. The Church has lost its way. It is up to us to either “fix it”, by bringing it back into the fold of Christianity, or abandon it to it’s own self destruction.

But, sitting by and watching “The Church” as it devolves into a useless structure, which is a stench in the nostrils of God, is not an option.

We can begin today. Remember the words of Joshua: “Choose you this day, whom you will serve...”

Pelosi: Another Useful Idiot for Our Enemies!

Pelosi: Another Useful Idiot for Our Enemies!
____________________
Comrade Pelosi, (Or “San Fran Nan”), erstwhile Speaker of the House of Representatives, is gallivanting all over the Middle East making of fool of herself at the expense of America.

Pelosi is so taken with herself, and she is so drunk on power, that she has no idea how ridiculous she is perceived by the Middle Easterners who will bow politely and indulger her every whim while belly laughing at her idiocy when she is out of earshot. I mean, that is a society, which places the value of a women on a par with a jackass, if the jackass is oh, say, crippled!

Now, lets look at what Pelosi is doing as it really is rather than as her cohorts in the Mainstream Media would have you believe. Commissar Pelosi is trying to set Foreign Policy for the United States. She doesn’t have the constitutional authority to do that. No one, not a Congressperson, not a Senator, not the Secretary of State, not the Vice-President … NO ONE has the constitutional authority to set foreign policy for the US except… the President of the United States. Them’s the facts… period!

Now, Pelosi can continue making a fool of herself, and America, (you gotta wonder how hard the Muslims are laughing at the stupidity of Americans to elect A WOMAN to represent them in a national legislative body, plus, act as a foreign policy expert abroad!) as she trips all over herself to persuade this nation’s sworn enemies that the dems mean them no harm. I can just hear her tell them not to worry, the dems are in power now and it will be all better. She will assure them that those mean ole republicans don’t understand, as the dems do, that the Islamofacist are simply misunderstood and, actually, mean the US no harm. She will further assure them given a chance the dems will negotiate with the Islamofacists and stop all this noisy, nasty, fighting, and killing, and all, in a New York minute.. She will tell them that SHE is going to see that all US troops will be pulled out of Iraq just as fast as she can force the President’s hand by cutting off the funding for America’s war effort in Iraq.

The Muslims, on the other hand will take advantage of her idiocy by assuring her that, indeed, they mean us no harm, and they only want peace. They will neglect to mention that the peace they seek is the peace of a worldwide dictatorship under an Islamic theocracy! They will neglect to mention to her that the US, in their plans, will become an Islamic country under that theocratic rule no matter how many years, or centuries, even, they have to murder US citizens and infiltrate our wide open borders to haul bombs and terrorist across those non- existent borders until victory is theirs. No they won’t tell her that. And she will come away singing the same song as Neville Chamberlain after his visit to Hitler when Hitler told Chamberlain just what Chamberlain wanted to hear. Hitler attacked Poland in 1939, and … well, the rest is history. Pelosi is in so far over her head that she has no idea she is talking to the modern day equivalent of Adolph Hitler… and they are playing her for the “sucker” that she is.

I have to tell you, as an American… I am embarrassed by her behavior. I am embarrassed by her utter lack of common sense when it comes to dealing with an enemy totally dedicated to the destruction of the United States of America.

Pelosi is deliberately undermining the President of the United States and she knows it. This trip was calculated to do just that.

I have news for “San Fran Nan”… this president will not “kow-tow” to her and her empty headed threats to the power of the Presidency. This President does not consider the popular way to do things or even the popular thing to do. He simple does what he feels he must and… the devil take the hindmost. If you don’t agree with him “staying the course”, you refer to him as “stubborn”. If you do agree with him you say he is “steadfast”. Funny how that works, what?

And finally, with the “nation’s nanny” just sitting down to talk to those criminals, she is elevating them, in the eyes of their fellow Islamofacists, to the level, and stature of the US. That alone is unforgivable. That is, plain and simple, “giving aid and comfort to the enemy.” It is despicable!

I have said the democrats are far more dangerous to the US than the Islamofacists. I stand by that. For the democrats represent the Trojan Horse of the Islamofacists. As soon as they can, the democrats will slip from the belly of that horse and open the gates of America to the barbarians, the Islamofacists, whose sole purpose, on this earth, is to murder as many Americas as is necessary to bring America to it’s knees. Once that is accomplished, guess whom the first people they will purge from among the living in an Islamic America will be. The democrats, of course! But… they are so deluded they can’t see that, or they refuse to see it, which is even more stupid!

We conservatives warned the American electorate about “those people” before the 2006 election. The electorate paid us no mind… and voted those totally inept people into office… and now… the entire nation will pay the awful, awful, price… more war, more murder, more terrorist activity on our home soil, and eventually the total capitulation of our government to those Islamic terrorists.

No, Comrade Pelosi is just another in a parade of “Useful Idiots” who play right into the hands of America’s enemies. Every time they have done it in the past … it ends in disaster. I expect nothing different this time.

Why Iranians Take Hostages ... by Alan Caruba

Why Iranians Take Hostages
By Alan Caruba
____________________
I often fear that the vast ignorance of Americans and others around the world concerning the history of Islam condemns them to be pawns in the hands of the Iranians and other Muslim leaders who reflect why Islam came to be and how it has conducted itself since the death of Muhammad.

The recent “incident” in which 15 British sailors were taken hostage by the Iranians (and you can substitute any radical Islamic group such as Hamas, Hezbollah, or al Qaeda committing other similar acts) and the subsequent “diplomatic” effort totally ignores the fact that these same Iranians took American diplomats hostage in 1979. Our subsequent failure to mete out a severe military retribution has brought us to the current prospect of a nuclear-armed Iran.

You may have noticed that, every time the United States leaves a war unfinished, we end up having to deal with the same bad people whether they are the North Koreans, the Iranians, or, in the case of Iraq, the return in 2003 after the botched victory in 1991. The only purpose of war is to leave one’s enemies utterly without the will to repeat their bad behavior. By contrast, we have excellent relations with Japan and Germany.

It should be noted, too, that the Iranians have shown absolutely no regard for the Geneva Convention, having paraded their hostages on television and forced them to make false statements under threat of death. The loudest voices about the proper adherence to the Convention have, of course, been raised against the United States.

The powerful hold that Islam has on the minds and hearts of Middle Eastern Muslims is deeply rooted in its very beginnings. This “religion” that Mohammed invented had as its purpose a justification for looting other towns and tribes in the name of Allah. Thievery, banditry, the sale of slaves, the imposition of taxes and tribute, were all set in motion when in March 632 Muhammed said, “I was ordered to fight all men until they say ‘There is no god but Allah.’”

Islam, which translates “submission”, is all about war, the division of the booty that results, and the subjugation of those who are conquered. This explains why, alone among the three major monotheistic religions, Islam has produced absolutely nothing that one can call progress.

Centuries later, in November 2001 Osama bin Laden announced “I was ordered to fight the people until they say there is no god but Allah, and his prophet Muhammed.” Not a single new idea has issued forth from Islam since its founding.

Islam divides the world between itself and what it calls “the world of war” by which it means all others who are not Muslims. The entire early history of Islam under Muhammed was one of looting and pillage as, one by one, those who responded to his banner, calling him a prophet, realized that there were profits to be had in conquering those around them.

On Mohammed’s death, Islam almost immediately divided into warring parties over who would inherit his mantle as caliph. The Sunnis and the Shiites are still fighting one another over that. Islam is one long history of war, treachery and deceit.

In his book, “Islamic Imperialism: A History”, Efraim Karsh relates a story of the struggle between the Abbasids and the declining Umayyads, two Muslim dynasties in 883 AD. The leader of the Abbasids, Abul Abbas, called himself “the bloodshedder.” Karsh relates:

“In an attempt to prevent any backlash from supporters of the fallen dynasty, the Abbasids embarked on a murderous spree. In Mecca and Medina scores of Umayyads were rounded up and murdered in detention. In the Iraqi garrison town of Wasit the governor laid down his weapons in return for a personal guarantee of safe conduct by the caliph, only to be treacherously murdered. In Palestine, the newly appointed governor of Syria invited a group of eighty prominent Umayyads to a banquet, slaughtered them all, then sat calmly among the corpses to finish his meal.”

In the aftermath of the 1991 defeat of the Iraqis who were driven from Kuwait by a coalition led by American forces, Saddam’s generals met in Safwan to accept surrender terms. What they got was a promise of U.S. withdrawal and the right to use their helicopters for “transportation.” What they did was use those helicopters as gun ships to slaughter thousands of Shiites and Kurds who showed any inclination to resist the further rule of Saddam Hussein. The result of that miscalculation were “no-fly zones” over two thirds of Iraq that were maintained for twelve years until the second invasion in March 2003.

Today, as the U.S. media puts the various battles between Shiites and Sunnis on the front pages, Americans wonder why are these two Muslim groups blowing up each other’s mosques? Why are they murdering each other? Why are Iraq’s neighbors, Iran and Syria, maneuvering to secure whatever they can gain from the effort to (1) rid Iraq of the American-led coalition forces and (2) pick up the spoils of a divided and easily conquered Iraqi nation?

An easy reading of Islamic history and a common sense response to today’s events tell us that the Iranians will continue to probe for weakness among its enemies, the Americans, the British, the other members of the European Union, and of course, those Gulf nations who will have to confront a nuclear armed Iran if they are permitted to continue. Any failure to respond to their outrages will earn their contempt and further rumblings of war.

“We will continue to export our revolution throughout the world…until the calls ‘there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah’ are echoed all over the world.” Iran’s Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in 1979.

Want to hear the call to prayer in your neighborhood? All we have to do is leave Iraq.

The Global Warming Movement is Not About Saving the Earth!

The Global Warming Movement is not about saving the earth. The Global Warming movement is about recreating our society in the image of socialism.
That is the bottom line!

If you understand what the real motivation of those pushing the “Save the Earth” program by taking the world, especially the US back to the 19th century, then you are forewarned and fore armed.

The Environmental movement is now a religion in it’s own right. The Pope of the new religion is, of course, Al Gore.

Once you understand that environmentalism is a religion, then you understand why Environmentalism and Christianity are incompatible. Yet many mainline Christian denominations are promoting environmentalism, and the hoax of man- made global warming from the pulpit, no less!

Some churches have even banned the use of styrofoam drink containers, and disposable plates, and plastic eating utensils. I know this because the church I formerly attended did that. (The operative word is “formerly”. I no longer attend that church.)

Socialism and Christianity are sworn enemies. They cannot co-exist. Yet many of the mainline denominations have embraced socialism, now operating under the new name of Environmentalism. The effect for the church is roughly that of embracing a serpent. They will be bitten and eventually die.

There was a time in America when one went to church one learned of Christ and what is expected of an adherent to the Christian faith. Sadly, in many of our churches today, one learns of social programs favored by the pastor, or priest. Rarely are the congregants admonished for commission of sins and urged to repent and lead lives modeled after the namesake of the faith... Christ. And it is all to obvious in the daily lives of Americans and the decline in the morals of the American society.

The Christian church, once the leader in American society has abdicated that role for the role of a subjugated follower of the political correctness crowd and the tool of the anti-Christ… the environmental movement.

The Christian church has much to answer for when the final accounting comes, as it most certainly will.

I have chosen to remove myself from organized religion. My faith is as strong as ever, and that is precisely the reason I have elected to leave The Church. It no longer represents the founder who gave His life in 33 AD for His Church.

As we approach the High Holy Days of the once Christian church, those who subscribe to the Christian faith would do well to take stock of the church, to which they are aligned, and decide if that church still represents Christ, or not. If you have a single doubt, then you must decide whether to stay in that church, or follow the admonition of St Paul to Timothy to “Come out from among them”. That is exactly what I did. As one who actually tries to follow Christ, I could do no other. Once you stop long enough to think long, and hard, about your commitment to Christ, as a Christian, you will most likely see that your only option is to do the same.

Is it any wonder that the Evangelical Community of Christians is growing by leaps and bounds while the mainline denominations are suffering a slow bleed of their membership?

Bombing Iran !

Bombing Iran!
____________________
My Crystal Ball is on the fritz and I cannot see how the British hostage situation in Iran will eventually turn out. But, I have slowly come to realize that the British Sailors and Marines are not likely to be rescued any time soon, if ever. My first tip-off was Tony Blair asking the UN to condemn Iran for taking the Brits hostage. I mean, the UN is about as relevant as brakes on a snail.

But… SOMETHING is going on now. It’s difficult to tell if it has to do directly with freeing the British sailors and marines, or if these are the preliminary steps for the coming attack on Iran.

Iran is bracketed by US troops. (Afghanistan on the east and Iraq on the west.) We have been moving troops to Iran’s borders and we have been moving more naval assets into the Gulf and into the vicinity of the Gulf. We now have two carrier groups (roughly 80 ships per group, already in the Gulf and a third is steaming to the Gulf, even now. I can’t learn how many subs we have in the area (Nobody Knows) but there is, most likely, at least one in the Gulf and others in the area within easy reach of Iran. That is too much hardware for a simple “show of force”. Plus, the Russians and the Chinese have pulled their personnel out of Iran in the past few days. Something is in the works.

I can’t get any clear info on what is going on at Diego Garcia (the joint UK and US military base in the Indian Ocean. It belongs to the UK but the US seems to run the place. There are something like 50 permanent British military personnel there and roughly 700 permanent US military personnel there.) There are two, or more, Marine pre-positioning ships there with equipment and material. If there are more than two… that would be another tip off. Plus, the B-2’s and B-1’s and the tanker aircraft population there. Normally the B-2’s are kept here in the states, and they are capable of a round trip bombing mission to Iran. But if we intend to make multiple bombing runs, at least some of them would be flown, in advance, to Diego Garcia, and fly their missions from there. It will take several days of strategic bombing to do enough damage to Iran’s facilities to actually set them back for a few months. That’s all we can hope for now, without an extended land war. Their bomb-making program is too far advanced to stop it outright without an invasion.

We can work the Iran problem without an invasion, and I fully expect that is what we will do. However, without ground troops, the air war will be a protracted exercise. We will take losses in the air. Iran is equipped with the latest Russian anti-aircraft missiles, especially around their atomic facilities. So, we can expect to see downed American airmen paraded thru the streets of Teheran.

I had thought we would allow Israel to have the Public Face on the Iran attack, but it is looking more and more as if the US, and now the UK, are going to take the lead. I understood that it would be all of us… us being: the UK, Australia, the
US, and Israel, actually participating in the raids, when they come, but I figured we’d step back, out of the limelight, on this one. Looks as if I am wrong.

Now here's the thing: The current Israeli government is likely to fall, within a few weeks, and a new government placed in power to ... well... go to war.

Israel knows she needs to attack Hezbollah in Southrn Lebanon... again... and fairly soon. When she strikes this time, with a new government, it is likely she will strike Hezbollah in all directions. It seems unlikey, to me, that Israel will allow Hezbollah to continue to exist near any of her borders.

Israel is preparing to use her atomic arsenal against Iran... if it comes to that. First she needs to rid herself of the Hezbollah threat. It makes sense, when viewed from this angle, that she clean out Southern Lebanon as quickly as she can to be able to concentrate on Iran.

Israel is not relying on the West to take out Iran. Plus, Israel knows she is incapable of the job with only conventional weapons. That leaves her nuclear arsenal which, I have no doubt, she will use against Iran's nuclear facilities.

Many readers thought I was full of it when this thing started and I said we were in for a 50-year war. I stick by that. This thing has just begun. It’s only going to get bigger, and spread to a regional conflict and, eventually, into a third world war. What we have is as close to a perpetual motion machine as is possible. It is feeding on itself and will grow until it implodes.

Iran is the key. Iran is providing the money and the material for the “insurgents” and the terrorists world-wide. We have to take Iran out. As long as Iran remains viable, the war in Iraq will not slow nor cease. Even if we leave Iraq, it will spill over and grow into that “regional conflict” we all dread. I don’t see how it can be avoided. Unfortunately, I’m afraid we have waited too long to strike Iran, now. Our tardiness is only going to cost us more casualties now. Some one, some nation, must nutralize Iran. It's going to happen, it only remains to see whether it's the US, or Israel, stepping up to the plate.

Now, if I know this, the President knows this. But he is committed. I think he has decided that he is condemned... no matter what… so he might as well go ahead and do the job his way and be done with it. Even if Congress cuts off the funds, this President is not going to back down. He’ll get the money, most likely from allies. The Saudi’s don’t want Iran taking over the Middle East anymore than we do. They will see that we have the funding for our troops to keep Iran and Iraq out of their backyard.

This is going to get a lot nastier before it gets any better. I’m still looking for the mushroom cloud over New York and Washington. We’re in this thing up to our necks and there is no getting out no matter what Pelosi says.

America's Suicide

(This Post First Ran in March of 2006!)________________

America’s Suicide
_________________

We have a country torn about whether it wants to be free, or a socialist slave nation, a country which is so ignorant of it’s own rights and privileges as well as it’s responsibilities, under the US Constitution, and so utterly ignorant of the actual laws of the US that it behooves us from time to time to stop, take a deep breath and try to decide who we are, what we are, and where we are headed.

We are a nation at war. Our enemies have sworn to wipe us out. That, in itself, is not new. It seems some nation, or group of nations, or fanatics, has been trying that since, well, 1776. So far, we are still here.

Having said that, I think we are as close to collapsing, as a free nation, as we have ever been… at any time in our history.

Our educational system has failed this country. It has failed the would be beneficiaries of it’s knowledge. We now have a couple of generations, in existence right now, who haven’t a clue who they are. Why? Because our educational system no longer teaches history. I don’t mean the politically correct garbage, disguised as history, in order to sell our students a bill of goods in an attempt to create support for a political system that will eventually replace the capitalist system upon which the nation was founded and upon which it has flourished. No, I mean real history, the raw, gritty, stuff that does not shrink from teaching us of our failures and our triumphs. The story that helps us to understand who we are and how we got here, the story that creates pride in oneself and pride in one’s nation.

Further, it teaches our students that the United States is a Representative Republic, not a Democracy, as they have been taught to believe. A history that teaches our students that there is, indeed, and AMERICAN CULTURE. A singular culture, created by our ancestors, and to which each generation contributes, good or bad, as the generations come onto, and pass from, the American scene.

I’m speaking of a history that teaches our youngsters how laws are made, how laws are used, and how laws are tested. It teaches them respect for the law. It teaches them that in America, very little is asked of it’s citizens, except that they obey the laws which were created by the representatives their parents sent to the government of the United States for the sole purpose of making those laws.

The history I’m speaking of teaches that America is a country of law. Our society is based upon a code of law, which was based upon, among other things, the Ten Commandments of the Bible, English Common Law, and other codes.

Proper history teaches there are rights, privileges, and responsibilities, all tied up into one bundle and each citizen is handed that bundle at birth. It further teaches that for every infraction of a law, there is a punishment. It is the way civilization governs itself. If you break the law, you will be punished.

But, this is precisely what our American youth have no knowledge of. They haven’t a clue who, and what, they are. They no longer have the pride for their country and the passion, or love, for her that is necessary for a country to survive and thrive. It just isn’t there.

All great nations commit suicide. America is no different. We are in the process even as I write. We have been since, at least, the decade of the 1960’s.

I’m afraid America has reached and passed her “high water mark”. The decent into mediocrity began in the 1960’s and has increased at a frightening pace ever since.

I believe the American educational system has done this. It has gone from the premier educational system, in the world, to the rough equivalent of an educational system of a third world country. If a country wishes to destroy its educational system, the quickest and most efficient away to do that is to allow the teachers to unionize. The most powerful unions in America today, bar none, are the teacher’s unions.

Then, there are the politicians who make use of these ignorant products of the American Educational system and, boy, have they ever! We have a nation filled, to over flowing, with “Useful Idiots”! And there is no light at the end of that very long tunnel.

I suppose the gaudiest example of American ignorance resides in the American Left. (The old expression “birds of a feather”, etc.) Although, we have our share on the Right, as well, it seems most pronounced on the Left, I think, because of their propensity toward public displays of their ignorance. The glittering jewels of ignorance seem to, sort of, wash up of the shores of the Left and are immediately lauded, and praised, and placed in positions of prominence for the entire world to see. Examples: the anti-war movement, the global warming crowd, the pro choice crowd, the politically correct crowd, the ban the bomb crowd, the supporters of the UN crowd, the tolerance crowd, the multicultural crowd, and many groups which support strange and weird behavior. All these groups fall beneath the left’s huge umbrella. Every so often one of them will pop up on the Right, only to be shut down and expelled. On the right, we don’t suffer fools lightly. If we find we are cursed with such a group, or individual, we relegate them to the backbenches, immediately, out of public view. We do not advertise and promote our fools.

It disturbs me, beyond mention, to note how quickly our nation has gone from an individualistic, God- fearing, “Can DO” nation, to a nation of dependent hedonists, who find the word “can’t” to be the course of least resistance and cling to it in hopes of being saved from themselves by a government every bit as helpless as themselves.

I must tell you, I believe there is something to what the preachers, and prophets, of old tried to tell us… that was… that God would withdraw his favor from a nation, which chose to forsake Him. God must weep, regularly, when he views the mess we have made of this great, and glorious, land, to which, I am convinced, He led our Forefathers.

We find ourselves, as a country, today split into two camps. One camp wants to save the country, from itself, and restore it to it’s rightful position as that “shining city on a hill”. The other is bent on total destruction of what is left of that dream and what is left of the efforts the founders of this unique experiment. As a member of the former group, I must tell you I feel we are losing to the latter group. Any proof you might need is splashed across your morning newspaper and the screens of your TV sets.

Can we save America? Frankly, I don’t think we can. When I survey the generations, upon whose shoulders that task will lie, I really fear for the survival of America.

You see, when you rob a people of their identity, you have taken everything from them. You can lead them wherever you wish…right off the cliff, if you wish. They will unquestioningly follow. They don’t know any better.

I see two generations, behind mine, neither of which has any clue who they are. Their destruction is assured. In their destruction lies the destruction of the once great land known as America.
