Environmentalism vs. Socialism

(This Post First Ran in December of 2005!)

Just about every sentient individual in the United States has come to the conclusion that "Global Warming" is a crock. The vast majority of Americans have reached this conclusion and it just irks the living daylights out of the Socialist Left.

When you place environmentalism beside Socialism, and consider them, they are virtually the same. Each wish to control society, especially any capitalist society. Socialism hasn’t gone away, it simple moved to a new home, the environmental movement.

REAL scientist will tell you the climate is warming, slightly, simply because the sun is warming. Whoops, there goes the global warming hoax.

That Kyoto Treaty would have creamed the economy of the US. Even Bill Clinton knew that. The Congress had the good sense to turn it down, flat…even while Clinton was still in the oval office.

Now, if you know anything, at all, about running a business, you know that the cost of doing business is pasted on to the consumer of the products that business produces.

So, when the “Greenies” scream, that Big Business will not pay the price to upgrade their equipment to meet the extremely high standards for clean air they endorse, just know that that claim is a crock, too. If you know business, you know the business will not bear that cost, but the consumers will bear that cost. When the consumer refuses to pay that increased cost, production is cut back. When production is cut back, jobs are cut back. It is a vicious cycle and, Dear Reader; it is a cycle, which would take us back to the Great Depression in just a few short years.

If these “Greenies” had the sense God gave a gnat, they’d know their demands would crash the US economy… unless, of course, that is exactly what they want. I choose to believe the latter.

So, look again at the environmentalist movement and compare it with the Socialists. Then decide for yourself if you really want to support a movement bent on the destruction of the US.

It would be near impossible to decide which is the more dangerous to the US… Environmentalism, or Islamofacism. Both want our destruction.

Hizbollah now has Zelzal Missiles to hit Tel Aviv or Israel’s Nuclear Reactor at Dimona.

Debka File reports that Hizbollah has Zelzal missiles, in Lebanon, capable of reaching Israel’s Nuclear reactor!

Israel’s nuclear reactor, located in Dimona, is well within range of the Zelzal Missiles. That would place Tel Aviv well within range of the missiles as well.

Democrat Defeatism !!!

So the Democrats have decided to come clean have they? No more pussyfooting around. Just the facts, eh? Ok. What are the facts? Well, on the outside chance that you may have been wondering, Democrat Congressman John Murtha, of Pennsylvania, made it crystal clear today. The Democrats want US troops withdrawn from Iraq in 6 months.

That’s it! They’re defeated! They surrender! They’re whipped! They capitulated! They rolled over! They threw in the towel. They quit! They retreated! They just plain chickened-out!

That yellow streak they have been trying so hard, for months now, to conceal, just burst forth into the bright sunshine of truth! The Islamic terrorists have defeated the US Democrat party! And all they had to do was be persistent!

It is embarrassing! It is truly embarrassing for the rest of America to be associated with this bunch of jelly spined cowards. Tell me, how do they live with themselves? How do they bear the shame and manage to go about the everyday duties of just getting on with life when they are scared of their own shadows. How? How do they live with the stench of cowardice emanating from their jaded souls? How can they live with themselves knowing they have just told the families of the men, and women, who died in Iraq that their loved ones life was given for nothing, that their dead loved one has died in vain.

Do you begin to see why I have said over, and over, that we can never trust the Democrat party with the security of this nation… ever again? If we do, there will be no nation. They simply do not have the spine to stand and fight for the freedom we enjoy as Americans. They will give this country away in the blink of an eye. The US Democrat Party makes the French look like courageous heroes!!!

How they can deceive themselves into thinking we can leave this war IN Iraq is beyond me. Unlike Vietnam, this war will follow us back home to our own shores. And why not? The insurgents understand that they can win, even in America itself because the Democrat Party will not resist them. Worse, they know the Democrat Party will do everything in it’s power to place roadblocks in the way of anyone else who tries to stand against the enemies of America.

Where is the patriotism? Where? Where are the national leaders who will stand against the enemies of this country… foreign AND DOMESTIC?

The Democrat Party needs to be slapped down, and slapped down hard, over their sell out of the Security of America. For that is what it is.

Don’t ever ask me not to question their patriotism again. What is patriotic about surrender? What?

Now we know why the terrorists have not hit the US again since 9-11. Why should they? The can see the Democrat Party is all they need to bring America down. It is not necessary for them to risk their men and materiel in America, itself. The Democrats will not resist and will not allow others to resist.

The Democrat Party is the “Shame of America”.

American Citizens Had Best Get Ready!

Looks as if the Democrats may make some gains in the Congress in November. I, along with others, predicted that might happen. It was one of those times when I hoped I was wrong. But, it sure looks that way now. So what to do?

Well, I suggest you clean your guns, test fire them, clean them again, and stock up on the various calibers of ammunition you will need for your weapons.

Now… I not proposing a revolution here! What I AM proposing is that we go ahead, now, and prepare for the war between Americans and Islamists which will take place here, in the streets of America… if the Democrats gain control of our government.

Extreme, you say? Hold that thought! Get back to me in a few years when we finally beat the terrorists back and get a respite.

I’m not advocating the start-up of the Militias, as happened during the Clinton years. On the other hand, I have no doubt they will spring up again. Americans feel so vulnerable when Democrats are in control of the government. That’s because America is vulnerable when Democrats are in control. They have no concept of National Defense. None. They will talk, and talk, right up to where the terrorist puts the gun to their temple and pulls the trigger.

Now, I can’t speak for you Northern brethren. But the South has known invasion, and we have known defeat, and we have known occupation. The only reason our Southern ancestors allowed it then was… because Robert E Lee asked the Confederates NOT to take to the hills, and the swamps, and fight a guerilla war. He asked our ancestors to go home and be good citizens. They did. He was probably the ONLY man alive, at that time, who could have said that… and had our ancestors comply.

Not this time.

Like Israel, we Southerners have vowed “never again”.

If the Islamists think once they start their terror war, in the Southern states, that Southerners will sit back, as the Iraqis, and the Afghans, and the Lebanese civilians did, and allow them to have their way… they are sadly mistaken. The Southerner will fight them with the ferocity of a whirlwind. We will not wait upon the US Military.

Let me give you an example of just how deeply Southerners take the safety of their homes and families.

Until the mid-nineteen-seventies North Carolina had an “Outlaw” law on the books. If we had a particularly bad criminal, on the loose, and law enforcement was unable to apprehend him, a judge would sign a document declaring that criminal an “Outlaw”. Once that was done, any citizen could shoot and kill that criminal… on sight. No questions would be asked. No charges could be brought against the person who killed the criminal.

Many times I have broadcast the description of an “Outlaw” on the air. I have no recollection of any of those "Outlaws" actually being shot. Every last one of them quickly made their way to the nearest law enforcement office and turned themselves in... because… they knew they were walking dead men until they did. They knew their ONLY chance of survival was to get to a law enforcement agency and turn themselves in.

Understand… that with Democrats in control it will be every man for himself. Americans had better prepare. Democrats have no sense of national security. They have no sense of self-defense. The have no sense of closed and secure borders.

The private American citizens will be on his, or her, own!

You had best get ready!

It bothers me when I hear politicians, and former politicians, call for a Lasting Peace in the Middle East… especially a Southern politician, a Baptist, at that, and… a former President of the US.

I am referring, among others, to former “horrible” President Jimmy Carter of Plains, Georgia.

Now, let me see if I can explain this a bit:

It is always difficult to “unmix” politics and religion; at least it is for me. I really like to keep them separate, as much as I can… with the knowledge that each will, most certainly, intrude on the other… and there is no way to stop that. Not in a free society, anyway.

I was raised Southern Baptist. I left the Baptist church when I was in my mid-twenties and became a Lutheran. I felt the Lutheran church offered me something I could not find in my former denomination. Today that offering has been revoked and I find myself a “non-practicing” Lutheran.

Experience in the Baptist church taught me many things. One is that the policy Mr. Carter is suggesting, a “Lasting Peace in the Middle East”, is certainly not what the Baptist church teaches... at least they didn’t when I was a Baptist. In fact, it taught just the opposite… that there would be no peace, whatsoever, in the Middle East, until the return of Christ and the great battle of Armageddon.

So, you can imagine how my jaw dropped when I read Carter’s article in the Washington Post. (Find it here:

What’s going on here? Has “Jimma” finally gone round that bend he has been approaching, rather rapidly, of late? Or, has the Baptist church changed its stance on Peace in the Middle East? I simply don’t know. But, knowing the Baptists, as I do, (there are a number of my family, including my brother, who are Baptist ministers) I cannot believe the church has changed its teachings to reflect modern, secular, politics. (I expect I’ll hear from a Baptist, or two, about this! Fine people, those Baptists!! How’s that for “sucking-up”?)

Last I head, (and I have some friends who travel to Georgia, fairly often, and attend church at Carter’s church… and even attend the Sunday School class he teaches, or did teach.) the Baptist Church had not changed it’s teaching on “End Times”, Armageddon, or the Rapture. So, I have to wonder how other Baptists, members of one of the most conservative denominations on the earth, feel about this prominent Baptist misrepresenting their belief.

Carter’s association with the Baptists and his obvious break with them concerning Israel, and the Middle East, is a puzzlement. But then, politicians, who wear their religion on their sleeves, have always raised my eyebrows.

There is a distinct difference between wearing one’s religion on one’s sleeve, and practicing one’s religion, as that worthy adversary, Democrat Senator Joe Lieberman, does. I do not question his faith. He lives it.

Seems to me America would be a much better place if our politicians would LIVE their religion rather than publicly touting it as so many do.

Am I guilty of judging others by going against the biblical precept, “Judge not, that ye be not judged”? Of course I am! Christ himself said: “Ye shall know a tree by the fruit it bears”. I’m just examining the fruit! Kind of a “fruit inspector”, if you will.

I suggest we all begin examining the fruit we’re about to be offered, in the next few months, as the November Congressional Election approaches. We may even find that we need to dissect and taste that fruit before November 2008.

It’s Coming Down to Crunch Time!

Let’s get something straight right from the git-go: You call for a “Cease-Fire” only if you are LOSING! You call for an “Exit Strategy”, only if you are losing! Got that? If you are winning… you don’t need a cease-fire. If you are winning you don’t need an exit strategy.

Now, it came as no surprise that the Left immediately began calling for a “cease- fire” as soon as Israel lobbed the first round from one of their tanks into southern Lebanon. The have kept up their mantra of “Cease-Fire” day in, and day out, ever since! It is nauseating! That bunch of limp-wristed Lefties wouldn’t lift a hand to defend their own mothers from a rapist!

Yes, I’m angry! I hear the idiots, who think history began the moment they were born, bellowing how war doesn’t solve a thing! That is utter nonsense. Utter BS. This country, the USA, was founded as a direct result of war. Europe is free today as a direct result of war. And that just barely scratches the surface. But the two examples I offered here are glaring examples of just how utterly wrong the anti-war crowd is.

Back to Israel and Hizbollah… if the UN gets into the mix, Israel will lose this skirmish with the Hizbollah. The UN is anti-Israel. They are pro-Hizbollah. The US can help Israel by blocking any UN “peacekeeping force” sent to southern Lebanon. The Blue Helmeted troops are the laughing stock of the world. For good reason. They are, quite likely, the worse soldiers on the planet.

We have to allow Israel to complete her mission in southern Lebanon. If a cease-fire is imposed on Israel, the Hizbollah will claim a victory. That will boost the morale of their fellow terrorists worldwide.

But, dear reader, that is the way the Left thinks. They think like losers.

My own regional newspaper, owned by the New York Times, runs pictures on the front page, above the fold, of Lebanese casualties. No pictures are shown of Israeli civilians killed and wounded. Tell you anything? It says tons about where the paper’s sympathies lie.

How the hell are we supposed to know if those are photographs of Lebanese civilians, or Hizbollah terrorists? The Hizbollah don’t wear uniforms. And they are such brave fellows that they hide among the civilian population.

The American Left set out to sabotage the war in Iraq from day one. They’ve done a pretty good job of it, so far. The fact that, as a result of their sabotage, the lives of the dead American soldiers were sacrificed in vain has no effect on the heartless, power hungry, Lefties.

Now they have started on Israel. If there was ever any indication of the lack of God-fearing men and women on the American Left… their actions toward Israel should certainly be enough to condemn them through eternity.

America should stand back, and hold back other national powers, including the UN, who want to bring about a cease-fire in Southern Lebanon. If the US wants to be constructive… allow Israel all the time she needs to complete her mission, see that she has all the war-fighting supplies she needs and stand ready to assist her, up to, and including, manpower.

Let me wrap up this post by stating this: if you like what you see in Iraq, if you liked what you saw when the planes slammed into the World Trade Center, if you liked watching as dozens of Israelis were blown to bits by Palestinian terrorist, with bombs strapped to them, and if you yearn for that same kind of activity here in the US, then you should, by all means, vote Democrat in November.

I tell you the terrorists are counting on you voting to return power to the limp- wristed, scared of their own shadow, left wing Democrats in the Congress this November. With a Democrat Congress and a Democrat in the White House the gates will be swung open and the barbarians, who, up to now, have been AT the gates, will not only be PAST the gates, but at your throat, and the throats of your family.

This is serious business, dear reader. We can no longer put up with the mealy mouthed ramblings of a left wing President. We have long since passed the time when America was safe enough, against terrorist activity, to relax and enjoy watching the antics of an “over the hill” playboy President and a bunch of vacuous, empty-headed, Congressmen and Senators.

Americans live in constant danger these days. We need a strong hand at the rudder of the ship of state. We must have a man who is willing to do what must be done, when it needs to be done, and “damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead!” We will not find that man, or woman, among the Left.

We are just a few short weeks away from a Congressional election and a few short months away from a Presidential election. The Republican Party had better find a hard-nosed, former military officer, to run as President. We need to send a message that we are serious about freedom and we mean business.

The Democrats… well, they’re hopeless. They have nothing to offer but surrender and shame.

It’s your choice: stand and fight like our forefathers, or turn and run, as the Democrats would have us do.

Be very careful how you choose. Your life, and that of your family, depends upon your decision.

No Liberals in my foxhole!

In times of war, the last person you want in the foxhole with you is a liberal. They are always desperately looking for a white flag to wave. They are always trying to understand the enemy and excuse his bad behavior.

In late July, Eugene Robinson, a columnist for the Washington Post, penned a column that is quintessential liberalism. Normally I just dismiss such twaddle, but it occurred to me that it serves as a good study guide to liberalism. He expressed himself on the subject of Lebanon and Israel. Let us dissect it.

The first two paragraphs were devoted to making fun of President Bush as too dimwitted to understand the world. By the third paragraph, Eugene was already at full throttle. Bush and his folks haven’t just blundered around and created this dangerous mess. They’ve done it on purpose. And they intend to make it worse.

September 11, 2001. President Bush did not create the destruction of the Twin Towers, nor did he create Osama bin Laden, Hezbollah, or Hamas. The attacks on the United States by Jihadists had been going on for decades before he was elected. In 1983, Hezbollah killed 243 U.S. Marines in Beirut to cite just one instance. In 1979, Iran took U.S. diplomats hostage for 444 days.

To Eugene and his fellow liberals, everything began with and can be blamed upon President Bush. This convenient loss of memory is a common liberal trait.

Another liberal trait is to regard any military response to an attack on the United States or one of its allies as wrong. Still ruminating about Lebanon, Eugene describes Israel’s response as utterly disproportionate as if victory over those raining rockets down on its cities, filled with civilians, is not the object of war. Eugene deemed Israel’s response to be seemingly indiscriminate carnage, which he called counterproductive. War is about killing people and breaking things.

Now we get to the most liberal notion of all. The Israeli campaign is so intense and widespread that it is creating more terrorists than it kills. This is pretty much the same argument made for U.S. military withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan. It is a liberal article of faith that if only the Israelis or Americans would just stop existing, there would not be a problem with Islamic terrorism.

No. The misnamed “War on Terror” is, in fact, a war against Islamic fundamentalism and the silent consent of more than a billion Muslims who believe that Islam must rule the world and that the five billion Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists and other faiths have no right to exist except as Muslims.

The problem is not Israel and is not the United States. The problem is a new world war that must be fought to protect all the freedoms; the scientific and artistic advances of Western civilization.

For Eugene, however, the problem is that Hezbollah’s stature in the Arab world is growing, and its patrons in Damascus and Tehran must be smugly satisfied. Tell that to the leaders of Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and even Saudi Arabia! They all condemned Hezbollah’s kidnapping of Israeli soldiers and its subsequent rocketing of Israeli cities and towns.

The role of any American president and secretary of state should have been to move quickly to bring hostilities to an end, said Eugene. How do they accomplish this when Hezbollah is not a nation to whom diplomats can be dispatched, but rather an army funded and supplied by two nations, Iran and Syria, with whom we have virtually no diplomatic relations?

Isn’t this a job for the United Nations? Wasn’t it created to avert and contain wars, large and small? Eugene makes no mention of it. Perhaps because of the outstanding role it played in containing Saddam Hussein after he waged war on Iran and Kuwait, or the interim peacekeeping forces it has had in Lebanon for years? And who can forget its remarkable humanitarian efforts with its “Oil for Food” program?

Liberals can and do forget anything that does not fit into their view that dictatorships are a necessary evil and that they need to be understood, not condemned.

Instead, Eugene angrily upbraids the President and Secretary of State who have staked their Mideast policy on a single incontrovertible idea that terrorism is bad and it has led them to the mistaken notion that Israel can achieve long-term security by creating a kind of scorched-earth buffer zone in southern Lebanon.

Well, Eugene, terrorism is bad. Perhaps you have forgotten there’s that liberal memory lapse again about the recent attacks in London, in Madrid, in Russia, and in India? Or the continuing carnage in Baghdad where Islamists are determined that 25 million Iraqis cannot have a democratic government?

A foreign policy based on destroying the Islamist movements that threaten Israel, Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the entire Middle East, Africa, Europe, Russia, and the Pacific Basin nations seems to many people to be a perfectly reasonable and rational policy.

Except for Eugene who opined that It’s hard to imagine a more unpromising course of action.

Finally, for purposes of this examination of liberal idiocy, Eugene concludes that, Bush, Rice et al. refuse to see that their crusade against terrorism can never be won by military action alone, because a victory in the war of arms can also be a defeat in the war of ideas. It is this fascination with ideas versus the ugly facts on the ground that fogs the minds of liberals like Eugene Robinson.

Islam will not be defeated by a war of ideas. It has been around since the seventh century and has laid ruin to every land in which it dominates. It glorifies death in a “holy war” against the Crusaders and Zionists, Hindus, too, get a special measure of hatred. When not destroying the mosques of competing factions within Islam, it destroys the churches, temples, and the artifacts of all other faiths. It beheads people.

Americans are bogged down in a long-term occupation. This is winning a war on terrorism? asks Eugene. Short memory again. We waged a Cold War against Soviet Communism, with time out for a couple of hot wars in between, and won that struggle by staying in Europe since 1945 and showing up with guns blazing in Korea and Vietnam. Ironically, we even funded and armed the Islamists in their struggle to drive the Soviets out of Afghanistan.

During all this time, since 1948, Israel has fought its own wars against the Islamists and no amount of concessions the return of land won in wars against them has caused their enemies and ours to cease their crusade or changed their mind.

Eugene Robinson needs to Google some of the views of the current President of Iran, read a book about Osama bin Laden, and take a longer look at Islam before he whines about Israel’s response to the latest outrages against its people or America’s removal of a homicidal maniac named Saddam Hussein.

Libya’s dictator has changed his mind about pursuing terrorism and developing nuclear weapons. Saudi Arabia is glad Saddam is gone and worries about Iran. Egypt continues its decades-long internal war against its Islamic terrorists. The Palestinians are the object of ridicule and disdain among their fellow Arabs.

I’d call that progress.
