Gun Control…Controlling the Citizenry
A government cannot control its citizens without gun control in the extreme. I mean… taking away the guns of those citizens.
The founders of the US understood this and they thoughtfully granted the citizens of the US the right to bear arms. So long as the citizens exercise that right we will be free. Soon after giving it up, we will be a totalitarian nation. It is just that simple.
I have heard all the arguments for taking away our guns and they all ring hollow when presented side by side with the facts.
Look, if you want to reduce gun deaths in America, you have to change people’s conduct. The gun is just a cold piece of machinery. It does what it is commanded to do.
The silly argument, which says the founders intended only members of the Militia to possess arms, is ridiculous. OK, who is the militia? Huh? No, it is not the National Guard. No, it is not the Reserves, and no, it is not the organized Armed Forces of the United States. Let’s look at the Federal Law on the militia. Paraphrasing the US Code title 10, section 311: “all males born in the US are automatically members of the US Militia from age 17 through age 46”.
I’m not a member of the NRA. But, I wish them well.
Our freedom is far too precious to allow the anti gun lobby to take it away. The gun bought us our freedom and it keeps us free. Take away the gun and those with murder in their hearts will still murder… by other means. Remember, Cain had not a single gun.
In the Nation’s capitol, where gun ownership is illegal, they have more murders than any other place in the country. How can that be? Murder comes from the heart, not from the gun.
A wise man once said: “Freedom stands on five boxes: The Soap Box, The Ballot Box, the Jury Box, the Witness Box, and… the Cartridge Box.
There can be no compromise with those who would disarm our populace. We must fight to keep our second amendment rights, for nothing less than our freedom is at stake.
One of our founding fathers had this to say on our right to bear arms:
"[The Constitution preserves] the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation...(where) the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. ---James Madison,The Federalist Papers, No. 46.
Finally, no less a person than “founding father” Patrick Henry said the following:
“Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect every one who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined.”
Never give up your gun for it is your freedom.

Has "Teddy"slipped a cog??
Has “Teddy” slipped a cog?
Senator Ted Kennedy has really gone off the deep end this time. Earlier this week, Teddy, spoke to an audience at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. In his remarks he claimed the US was the problem in Iraq. He demanded the President bring our troops home now. He wants a withdrawal started immediately after the Iraqi elections.
Now, Teddy has made some blunders in his lifetime, (now, lets give him credit… a LOT of blunders). But, this ranks right up there with Chamberlain’s “Peace in our time” promise of the 1930’s. This is pitiful!
Another of Great Britain’s Prime Ministers, one with a heck of a lot more backbone, once said: “Appeasement is feeding the alligator… in hopes that he will eat you last”! Winston Churchill made that remark. He was “dead on”.
Now here comes Teddy offering to appease the terrorists, by cutting and running. How utterly Looney!
To desert our post now, would open the door to the entire Middle East for a complete takeover by the “militant Islamists”, and they would do it. Never mind the fact that they will continue their war against us, and all western nations, until the last man.
Kennedy’s remarks are a slap in the face to our armed forces, and especially to the families of those soldiers who lost their lives in Iraq.
The Senator’s idiotic demands are truly breathtaking! Has he lost touch, completely, with reality? Or, has he simply slipped his leash and his handlers have lost complete control of him.
Is Teddy just playing to his political base? Oh, sure! The left wing lunatics have taken complete control of the Democratic Party and are now driving it to Perdition. The left-wingers in Congress, who have been hiding behind “Moderate” facades, apparently feel it is safe for them to show their true colors now. Teddy, as a leading light of the left, apparently feels free to make these wild, nonsensical demands on the Current Administration. His remarks demonstrate the reason a New Englander hasn’t a hope of a snowball in hell of getting elected with Southern votes! (Note to the Left…you can’t get elected without us! Don’t take my word for it. Just ask John Kerry. He thought he could, too!)
Thank God, President Bush will stay the course in Iraq (and Iran, soon.) Teddy can blow, and bluster, and postulate his air-headed defiance of common sense as much as he likes. I must say, it is great fun to watch him flail about as his party implodes upon itself. But, it does bother me to know that he is now doing for Al Qaida what Senator John Kerry did for the Viet Cong in Vietnam. Kennedy’s remarks this week make great propaganda for the morale of the Terrorists troops.
His performance this week was pitiful and pathetic. It resembled the last spasm of a dying dinosaur. Shameful. Absolutely shameful.

A Worldwide Tax?
A Worldwide Tax?
Not so many weeks ago, there was talk at the UN of a worldwide tax for something or other. We laughed it off. The UN is so puffed-up with it’s own self-importance nothing much surprises us coming from that crowd of international scalawags.
Now our old friend (Well, he SAYS he’s our Old Friend!) Jacques Chirac, of France, is proposing much the same thing. This time it is to alleviate the Aids situation in Africa. Ostensibly.
Look, “Ole Jack” is so far over the top he is verging on the “pitiful”. His ambition to become the President of the United States of Europe is fogging what little brain he has left. He spews forth these idyllic hallucinations as a matter of course these days. Ole Jack needs help. Serious help. His inferiority complex, and that of his nation, France, is getting out of hand… again.
The socialism of Europe is not going to fly in America, as the Democratic Party is learning… much to their chagrin. The Southern States will not allow it. The northern states will most likely slip away, at some point in the future, into the cesspool of socialism such as that of Jacques Chirac and the Old Europe.
So, when Chirac, or the UN, begins talking about a worldwide tax, we Southerners laugh. I mean… a “body shaking” belly laugh. The ridiculous proposal is, in fact laughable, but it is also a façade for danger. The danger lurking behind it is encroaching Socialism and One World Government.
We Southerners are not “Globalists”. Even today we want ”to be left alone”. We are not interested in becoming a part of any “One World Government”. We will be on the front lines in the fight to stop such proposals as a worldwide tax, proposed by Mr. Chirac, or the push for Global Government.
It is always good to remember that Thomas Jefferson said: “The price of Freedom is eternal vigilance.” These days we must watch even those who call themselves “our friends”.

Will Condi Run For President?
Why did the Dems fight Condoliza Rice’s nomination for Secretary of State of the US so energetically? (The US Senate confirmed her Jan 26th, 2005.)
Because they’re scared. They’re terrified of Ms. Rice.
For years we have been told at every opportunity, by the Dems, that Hillary Clinton is the smartest woman in the world. She owns the keys to the Whitehouse. She has been ordained the “President in Waiting”, the “Heir Apparent”, etc. etc..
Now a challenger is looming on the political horizon. She, too, is a woman. She, too, is brilliant. She, too, is a politician. She, too, is aimed at the Whitehouse.
There the similarities come to a screeching halt. You see… she is a Black woman and she is a Republican.
Blacks are Democrats…right? No, that’s not right. Some Black people have left the Democratic Plantation. Ms. Rice saw early on in her life that success for Black people was with the political party which didn’t just talk about advancement for Black people but actually saw to it opportunities were available for them. She went to the political party, which actually invited Black people to join the “American Dream” as a participating member and not just a recipient of the legendary largesse of the democrats socialistic programs, which throttle the aspirations of Black Americans and hold them in the clutches of victimhood.
While the likes of Barbara Boxer, John Kerry, and Ted Kennedy, those glimmering, shimmering, sparkling “jewels of socialism”, in the US Senate, made complete fools of themselves by showing their true feelings toward a black person who presents a threat to their idealism, Ms. Rice calmly sailed through their maelstrom of hypocritical slander. Their conduct was shameful. Their bitterness is exceeded only by their fear of Ms. Rice. She puts the lie to everything they have preached about Black Victimhood for decades.
Ms. Rice is now the "Secretary of State" of the United States of America. She may well be the Republican candidate for President in 2008. Now, wouldn’t that be something?

No to Nation Building !
No to Nation Building!
I fall into the category of people who do not agree with Nation Building. Especially Nation Building using US Troops to do it.
We are wasting treasure and the youth of our nation on an effort to build a nation in Iraq. I was all for the war, and I still am. We did what needed doing.
The Iraqi Elections are coming up in a few days. That should be the end of the US involvement with Iraq.
I do not buy the argument “we broke it, now it’s ours.” I am all for destroying a country which poses a threat to the US. Then, we should leave and let those who perpetrate such evil on Americans make do, for themselves, as best they can. Most, in Iraq, see the bombing and rebuilding by US forces as some sort of “Urban Renewal”.
Enough.
A destroyed country should be a part of the “payback” when the US troops enter a country on a military mission.
It is only a matter of time until Iraq is right back in the hands of a strong man dictator, or becomes an Islamic state like Iran. I believe only a strong dictator can rule those people.
We have got to understand. You cannot free slaves. Only slaves can free themselves. It is a natural law.
If the Iraqis want freedom and democracy, they will fight for it. If not, well…tough!

Elections are coming!
Elections are coming!
How’s that? We just completed an election and, an Inaugural, right? So, what gives?
Iraq gives, that’s what!
The first democratic election is to be held in Iraq this weekend. The first ever! Registration for these elections is very high and a turnout of 80% or more is expected. That will surpass the 60% record turnout of the US voters in November 2004! (And nobody was shooting at us, or trying to blow us up, at the polling places.)
Our old friends in the “Main Stream Media”(read “democratic controlled” media) are telling us, already, how these elections will fail. How the Iraqis will never accept them as legitimate, and we should put them off for another six months. If the Press had its way, there would be no elections in Iraq, period! As a matter of fact, if they had their way, Hussein would still be in power in Iraq!
This barrage of negativism from the “MSM” (Main Stream Media) was not unexpected. Their hatred of George Bush exceeds their loyalty to this country. They want our efforts in the Middle East, especially Iraq, to fail. Anything that might cause President Bush, and the Republicans, to look good must fail. And they will do everything in their power to make that happen. They have yet to understand that their efforts, in support of the Democratic Candidate in our own recent elections, did more harm to the political party they support than, the stumbling, and fumbling, of their totally inept candidate. But, hey, that’s OK by me. We’ll take all the help we can get.
The sooner the elections are held in Iraq, the sooner US troops can get out of that hellhole. Little by little, we will down grade our garrison there… after the elections. We will never again be able to leave the Iraqi people totally alone, because the trouble makers will re-take the government and return it to the pre-war dictatorship, which was alive and well before US troops hit the sand and snatched Hussein from his hole in the ground.
No, the US now has a permanent presence in the Persian Gulf area. We’re there forever. Why, because that’s where the oil is. Until the leftist “tree-huggers” lay off and allow us to knock holes in the tundra in Alaska, and get that oil, we have no choice but to keep those middle eastern oil fields available to the nations of the west. More US young people will die. But, the tree huggers think more of caribou than humans anyway, so they don’t seem to mind when the lives of America’s youth is spent to keep their cars running and their homes heated and their office’s running, etc..
The thing is… we have to have to give the people of Iraq a shot at democracy. Democracy may never work there. But, we have to see to it that those people have a chance at it. Once they have tasted the freedom of democracy an enemy will be hard pressed to force them to return to the repression of former days.
Will Democracy work in the Middle East? It has in Israel. But, will it work in an Arabic/Islamic country? Frankly, I don’t know. There must be a pretty good chance it will… else, why are those Islamists fighting so hard to keep it out of those theocratic countries? It would seem they, the terrorists, believe in the power of democracy more than our own US citizens, especially those in the press. (You know… the MSM.)
So, as the elections approach, this coming weekend, we can watch the terror attacks increase in numbers and in ferocity, both by the terrorists, and by our own Main Stream Media and… the left wing in our very own country.
Look, I want our troops out of Iraq as much as the next guy. I mean, they need to rest up and clean their gear and… get ready for the invasion if Iran.

Charlotte is an Embarrassment to all Southerners!
“The People’s Republic of Charlotte” is an embarrassment to our state, and our region of the US.
Ignorance of history, especially the history of the Great State of North Carolina, is apparent in the Queen City. It’s just "laid out there" for the world to see.
Look, North Carolina’s contribution to the Confederate Forces, during the war of Northern Aggression, was historic in its numbers alone. The Old North State gave more of her sons, and material, to the war for Southern Independence than any other state in the Confederacy! By far! As a result, she lost more of her sons to that great struggle than any other state of the Confederacy! Nearly every native family of North Carolina has not just one, but a number of Confederate Veterans in its ancestry.
258,000 Southern men gave their lives in that war. North Carolina was hardest hit. As an example… when the NC 26th entered the battle at Gettysburg she had 800 men. When she left the field she had lost 714 of those men. That was one unit in one battle. On the first day of the battle, the NC 26th lost 584 men. The NC 26th had three (3) men left when it reached the stone wall at Gettysburg. Please note…NC troops reached that wall when others failed.
Look at the numbers. They are staggering! North Carolina had 20,000 men killed in action, 21,000 killed by disease, plus tens of thousands wounded and left maimed for the remainder of their lives. One quarter of all Confederate deaths were Tar Heels!
Now, the city government of Charlotte, N.C. appears to have decided these men don’t deserve to be remembered by flying the flag they fought under, the flag they died under, defending Charlotte, and all of North Carolina, over their graves at Elmwood Cemetery.
The people of the Old North State should be outraged at this act of Political Correctness gone mad!
North Carolina troops were proud of being “First at Bethel, farthest at Gettysburg, and last at Appomattox.” And now, the city they fought for is ashamed of them. How utterly disgusting!
Charlotte, you have shamed the South. You have shamed the people of North Carolina. You have brought shame upon the ancestors of the men who gave their lives in your defense.

Look at the numbers. They are staggering! North Carolina had 20,000 men killed in action, 21,000 killed by disease, plus tens of thousands wounded and left maimed for the remainder of their lives. One quarter of all Confederate deaths were Tar Heels!
Now, the city government of Charlotte, N.C. appears to have decided these men don’t deserve to be remembered by flying the flag they fought under, the flag they died under, defending Charlotte, and all of North Carolina, over their graves at Elmwood Cemetery.
The people of the Old North State should be outraged at this act of Political Correctness gone mad!
North Carolina troops were proud of being “First at Bethel, farthest at Gettysburg, and last at Appomattox.” And now, the city they fought for is ashamed of them. How utterly disgusting!
Charlotte, you have shamed the South. You have shamed the people of North Carolina. You have brought shame upon the ancestors of the men who gave their lives in your defense.
Charlotte, by your actions, you have brought dishonor upon yourselves. Sad to say, you deserve it.
