How Many Conservatives Does it take to Maintain Control of Congress?

A Couple of Questions Reference the Election.

How many Conservative Republicans does it take to maintain control of the US House and Senate?

Answer: Nobody knows. It’s never been tried!

Another question:

How long before AQ takes credit for overturning the US Government just as it did in Spain?

  1. The internal problems you may be experiencing are important, but also is the loss of friendship overseas that the US has experienced as a result of your current foreign policy. In Europe now there are unprecedented levels of anti-US feeling - not agianst individual US citizens, but against the US State and its zenophobic stance against almost everything Non-American.

Going a little far aren't we? If Bush wasn't such a failure the G.O.P. might have won. If the G.O.P. itself wasn't a failure, they might have won. But if Nafta and Cafta go away, or get ammended, our dorders get secured, and the N.A.U. disappear would you still be upset about the Dems.? Oh but wait Bush would just veto that stuff.

I'm from the old school, son. It would be impossible for me to be any less concerned what someone thinks of me, personally, or what people think of my country. Call me a zenophobe, if you must, I can live with that.

    Best regards,

    Anon,
“In Europe now there are unprecedented levels of anti-US feeling - not against individual US citizens, but against the US State and its xenophobic stance against almost everything Non-American.”

Which part of Europe are you referring to? The only articles that may be considered anti-American in the UK press recently were one concerning the extradition treaty between the US and the UK. All the papers levelled the blame firmly at the door of the UK government for not doing its job properly and not the US. And the second article was to do with online gambling.

It may surprise you that there was nothing anti-US in today’s papers from France, which I read. In fact, you will find that when France elects a new President next year he (Sarkozy) will move France more in line with the US. EuroNews, the EU wide news network funded by the less useful EU states, did not even mention the election.

As Longstreet so rightly points out “It would be impossible for me to be any less concerned what someone thinks of me, personally, or what people think of my country.” If somebody dislikes you, so what. Hate is ultimately a self-defeating emotion. What matters is how you think of yourself. I guess that makes me xenophobic too.

So again I ask you, where are these “unprecedented levels of anti-US feeling.”

    Regards,

I give it a few days... then many independents will come to the realization that even with the discontent over Iraq and the GOP mistakes, it was a mistake for them to give Dems power. Especially, if they start a round of investigations.

But if this brings about a change for the better in the Iraq strategy then this outcome might be a good thing.
