Jerusalem To Be Partitioned… Again?

Jerusalem To Be Partitioned… Again?

******************

World Net Daily is reporting the US has devised a plan to partition Jerusalem as a part of a new peace proposal between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

If true, this is a jaw-dropping move by the US State department and one that all Christian Americans should oppose!

You need to read the story. You’ll find it at:

Here’s a snippet of the story to whet your appetite:

“The United States, which has been mediating negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority here, has proposed a plan to divide Jerusalem, WND has learned.

The plan, divided into separate phases, among other things calls for Israel eventually to forfeit parts of the Temple Mount, Judaism's holiest site.”

Get the gist of where this story is headed?

In June of 1967 Syria, Jordan, and Egypt were preparing to invade Israel. Egypt moved 1000 tanks and 100,000 troops to their border with Israel in preparation for the invasion. Syria was rattling their swords on Israel’s northern border, as was Jordan to their east. On June 5th, Israel launched a pre-emptive strike against Egypt and turned to her north and east to defend herself, as well. By June 10th the war was over with a cease-fire signed on the 11th. When the shooting stopped Israel had captured the Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula from Egypt, the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, from Jordan, and the Golan Heights from Syria.

The point is… Israel paid in blood for the city of Jerusalem, her hereditary capital city, and now the US is about to ask her to give up a portion of it again? The proposal, itself, should be seen as an insult to Israelis and to Jews everywhere.

I have a proposal for US diplomats. Butt out! We are only making it worse and prolonging the bloody struggle. There will be no peace in Israel until one side, or the other, wipes the other out. Our meddling has drawn this struggle out far longer than necessary. Had we allowed Israel to do what comes naturally for them, defending their homeland, the so-called "Palestinians" would have been an asterisk in the history books… and that’s all.

The Olmert government seems ready to agree to this partition. If that is true, then that too, is shameful.
