Fred Thompson Considering a Run for the White House??? I Sure Hope SO!

Conservatives have finally caught a glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel. No, it’s not and oncoming train! It is, however, somebody conservatives can vote for! Conservatives have been down in the dumps for, well, honestly… about six years now. We have longed for conservative leadership in Washington and, frankly, had none. The Republican candidates, already announced, are a lot of things… but none of them is a REAL conservative. Oh, they utter the phrases they need to, but we can tell... their hearts are not in it. Fred, on the other hand, is a REAL conservative. When Fred utters the words, he MEANS them!
Up to now, it was beginning to look as though I would be forced to sit the ’08 election out. There was/is no candidate out there I can support… unless Fred Thompson tosses his hat into the ring.
Newt? I don’t know what Newt’s intentions are. Nobody does. I think he has made a mistake, right out of the starting blocks. You can only keep folks hanging for so long, and they will tire and turn away. I’m afraid that has already happened to Newt.
Fred Thompson brings ready name recognition… immediately. If the name doesn’t ring a bell, as soon as his visage appears on the TV screen, or on those billboards, eyebrows go up in instant recognition.
Conservatives are longing for a candidate they can support. So far, the GOP has fallen way short of providing such a person. As a conservative... I cannot vote for McCain, Giuliani, or Romney. They’re NOT conservatives. Fred Thompson is.
Over the next few weeks Thompson will be vetted before the Washington crowd. I don’t put much stock in what the GOP on the Hill has to say, however. They bear much of the blame for the mess we are in currently. Frankly, I am much more interested in what my fellow conservatives, out here in the boon docks, have to say.
We will continue to watch this story, as it develops, and keep our ears close to the ground for any hint that Thompson’s campaign will soon kick-off.
You may have noticed that the one thing it has become (almost) imperative to have, for a "successful" Presidential ticket is an authentic Southerner on it. Well, Fred Thompson is a “Sho-Nuff” Southerner!
Yep, just about the time you think it’s gonna be dark forever… the sun comes up!
