  1. It’s about time some of these Senators exhibited a bit of common sense, it’s been thoroughly lacking in recent days, this was an ill conceived measure to begin with, brought on by a RINO ASSHAT, John McCain and his drunk buddy, Teddy Kennedy, and thank God enough Senators came to their senses and brought this ignorant BS to a close, at least for now…

Yes, it IS a stinging setback to The Little Prince, it’s time for that pandering ASSHAT to realize that he works for the people of the United States too, not the other way around, and hopefully this won’t be the last STINGING setback he experiences before he leaves office, Bush has literally turned his back on Conservatives and he has burned a lot of his Republican supporters in the process as well, and the Dems never did like him, this should seriously serve as a wake up call to him, it would to most people, any that can think past a 3rd grade level, but I personally don’t think Bush will be phased in any way, he cares nothing about poll numbers and he cares nothing about the people that put him in office…

We’ve pissed off the President and the Dems, we’ve persuaded our Senators to stop this AMNESTY bill and now the voice of the American people is being heard, LOUD and CLEAR, and that makes me very proud, but we still have much work to do and a lot of Conservative seats in the Congress and Senate that need to be won back…

On a personal note, just to see the look on Teddy Kennedy’s face made this battle and victory all worthwhile…

So, you can look for the Dems to immediately take up their NEW cause, shutting down Conservative talk radio and getting Conservative bloggers out of the mix…

Conservative talk radio is a broad and powerful media and the Dem/Libs know they can’t compete with it, there is no interest in the Dem/Lib message, and Conservative bloggers have proven themselves to be a force to be reckoned with as well…

You guys and your conservative this, conservative that crap, Charlie Webb A democrat was one of the people opposing the amnesty bill. And I heard Lionel on Air America say he hopes that they don't bring back the fairness doctrine too. You guys think you have a corner on what is good, give it a break already..... There is common good things between liberals and conservatives, remember the only things in the middle of the road are yellow stripes and dead armadillos.

  4. Frank, as you know, I am a Southerner. There is a high concentration of conservative democrats in the south. So, when I use the term “conservative", I automatically intend for it to mean both. It the case where I intend to refer only to conservative republicans I will say so.

At the moment, I am still a registered republican. But that is subject to change. If I do change, I will be a “conservative Independent”. The point of this rambling is… I am conservative FIRST. I went against the Prez and one of my republican senators on this Amnesty Bill. I’d do it again, if necessary.

What happened to S-1639 yesterday was, unquestionably, the result of irate conservatives from BOTH sides of the political spectrum bringing heat to bear on a hitherto unresponsive government.

Frank, I happen to be in a couty, in NC, where democrats outnumber republicans 13 to 1. (But the state rarely votes democrat!)So I am REALLY in the minority. But… and here is the thing that binds us together… both sides are, the vast majority, anyway, CONSERVATIVE. Most of my friends, and acquaintances, here are democrats. I have no problem with that. But, when it comes to crunch time on the core belief of conservatives we will both be there... conservative repubs and conservative dems.

My Congressman is a democrat…a conservative democrat. He’s a member of the “Blue Dogs” in the House. I have met with his staff, on occasion, and I communicate with him as often as I deem it necessary.

I don’t have a problem with conservatives from either side of the aisle. The two words “democrat” and “republican” are just labels. “Conservative” and “Liberal” tell everyone what you BELIEVE. It speaks of your “core belief”. And THAT (that core belief) is who we REALLY are.

If the Senate wants to put forth an immigration bill which seals that border FIRST. And does not allow citizenship for those already in the country illegally, then we can talk. I’m all for immigration. LEGAL immigration. Heck, half my family came here, as immigrants, during the 1700’s. The other half was standing on the beach, waving at them, as they hove into sight of this new place known as America.

But, we have to get control of who comes into this country… first. They are coming in faster than we can handle them. Do THAT first, then we can plan what to do with those illegals already here.

    Good to hear from you!

    Best regards, as always,

    Longstreet
