Mainstream Media is the Voice of US "Shadow Government".

Is there a shadow government at work, behind the scenes, in this country?

I have come to believe there is.

There are entirely too many national secrets leaked to the press than one would expect under normal day-to-day operations of our government.

We know, for instance, that a large number of hold-overs from the previous democrat administration still fill positions in agencies such as the CIA, the State Department, the Treasury Department, and others, including the Department of Defense, meaning, of course, the Pentagon.

Information is being leaked to press outlets from these agencies, and departments, which would lead one to think there is a systematic method of revealing the secrets of the this government, and this administration, which is planned and coordinated so as to cause the most embarrassment, and the most damage, to the Bush Administration and... to the US military.

There is a “shadow war” being waged, in the US, between the political left and the political right, between Democrats and Republicans. It is a war of words and deeds. A war which remain just below the visible spectrum. It is a war, which claims lives as well as reputations. It does immeasurable harm to this country and it gives aid and comfort to the enemies of this country.

Unfortunately, there are elements of the press, in the US, which see nothing wrong with aiding the enemies of the US. It says something about the decline of character, honor, and loyalty to the United States among organizations, which hasten to take part in such loathsome activities.

The FBI should be charged with a complete investigation, of all departments of the US government, for those who leak US secrets to anyone, including the press. Those people should be brought up on charges of treason and sedition, tried, and sent to prison.

The mainstream media in the US must be brought to heel. If that takes an abridgement of “freedom of the press”, then I am all for it. Freedom demands responsibility. Without responsibility one cannot be allowed freedom. For one, anyone, or any organization, to use that freedom to abuse fellow Americans and place them in danger, is reprehensible.

Just because an outlet of the press, in the US, does not care for the President of the country, or the political party in power at the moment, is no excuse to place the lives of American men, women, and children in danger. If efforts to root out the “leakers of classified information” to the press calls for sending reporters, and editors to jail, then so be it.

You may not like it, but America is at war! The fact that some Americans are not supportive of the war gives no one the right to place America in danger by aiding her enemies.

There was a time in this country when we shot people for that. There was a time in this country when treason was called treason… and if you were caught at it you were tried and you went to prison… no matter who you were.

We have become far too permissive of disloyal behavior. We have become far too permissive of elements in our society that would bring this country down. There must be limits and the law must enforce those limits.

I began this post by asking a question concerning the existence of a shadow government in the US. The answer, as I have said, is… that I believe there is… and the mainstream media, in the US, is the voice of that “shadow government”.

  1. If you want this "shadow war" as you call it over then concede! If you are like me as far as it comes to politics, I see the leaders of the left as Americans and the right, especially this administration as an occupying force. These guys are hostile to our constitution, our freedoms, shoot even our health. I am patiently waiting for the rest of America to wake up and realize that, and when they do, these clowns will never be in power again. The problem is the people had it too good, they forget all the repression that was overcome in this country so now we have to turn the clock back 70 yrs. to a time before workers rights, and a viable middle class. To a time before voter's rights... so they can keep up the facade of fair elections, to a time before the freedom of information act, to a time when our government was supposed to be transparent. Shoot I am the government, I feel I need briefed on everything BEFORE this administration does it, so I can decide if it is legal or justified. you talk about left overs, there are going to be at least 2 left overs on the supreme court that don't even know what a Wet Land is. But a good democratic president will find a way to replace them.

  2. Ok, an investigation into all branches, government-related agencies, military, and the press sounds good to me. But one problem...

...Are you prepared for what evidence an unbridled investigation may produce that shows that our government has been abusing its power and also misleading Americans?

I am frustrated with all politicians. I do not think they understand reality and it is going to take til after '06 for my views to change. I really want to remove all politicians and replace them all with people who have never held office. Both sides are allowing too much to occur that is damaging to Americans.

  3. Kevin: To answer your question... a resounding "YES"! I wish there was a great big "FLUSH" handle on the dome of the capital building! My Lord, do we ever need term limits! I understand that is not going to happen because of the SCOTUS.

If I may offer a bit of advice, I wouldn't bank on the '06 elections changing a thing! A tiny handful of seats may change hands but, by and large, the same crowd will be there when the votes are counted.

God help us, for we sure don't seem to be able to!

  5. Kevin, I think you are believing every piece of anti- Bush propaganda that comes your way and believe me there is a ton.

    Nice piece Longstreet, I agree whole heartedly. Especially this;

"Unfortunately, there are elements of the press, in the US, which see nothing wrong with aiding the enemies of the US. It says something about the decline of character, honor, and loyalty to the United States among organizations, which hasten to take part in such loathsome activities."

The Bush administration goes to great lengths to make sure everything they are doing is legal, do they walk the line? YES damn right because our safety is at stake in this war. We've aleady seen what happens when we let our guard down.

And Kevin, I defy you to name me one way in which YOU PERSONALLY or anyone YOU KNOW's rights have been infringed upon....tick tock tick tock.

I've never had a critic of this adminstation be able to actually give me an example.

  6. Frank,
Stop sniffing glue!! Change the water in your bong! I am beginning to think that you've blown a head gasket,my friend. GO STUDY HISTORY!! Remember,it was the Democratic Party that blocked ALL
    civil rights legislation. Remember
FDR? Imprisoned 155,000 US citizens? How about JFK and RFK?
Ordered the FBI to wiretap Martin
Luther King,Jr. Me thinks you doth
    protest too much!!Besides, if ol'
William O. Douglas couldn't be removed from the bench because of
    his public extra-martial affairs,
how are YOU going to impeach justices YOU don't happen to agree
    with?

  7. We conservatives tried to replace a Justice we didn't agree with, not too terribly long ago, and we failed. Didn't work.

  8. I didn't say impeach... Shoot the president could have their family members (spouses, children, grandchildren) renditioned along with terror suspects. They'd resign then. and then the president could classsify all documents and pardon everyone involved. Extraordinary measures to ensure the continuation of this great and free society. remeber this guy was illegitimately appointed by the supreme court, there was illegal purging of voter lists to help get this guy in the second time, so he is infact an illegal ocuppier of the whitehouse and anything he does is illegitimate.

  9. OH! and back on point Jefferson said, "a Government without newspapers is worse than newspapers without government."
Congress has roled over for this president, there are no checks and balances, the only thing keeping the citizens "informed" are the papers. We need information to keep our freedoms. I don't see the big stink anyway Bush told the world on Sept. 7th he was doing this, doesn't he think the terrorists were listening?

  10. Frank,
    I see a boat-load of allegations.
One question: where are YOUR facts?
I am NOT required to accept YOUR
    personal rhetoric as fact. Give
me names, dates, articles of reference, etc. to review. Having reviewed the above mentioned "evidence", I will enter
    into an "honest"debate with you.
Frank, you're starting to sound like "The People's Weekly Worker".
    New quote. Remember Abe Lincoln?
"More rogues than honest men find
    protection under the First Amendment."
