A movement to remove the word “Dixie” from “Dixie Youth Baseball” will soon be underway.
The movement to remove every vestige of the “South” grows daily with success after success while the organizations supposedly defending the South and Southern Heritage, stand on the sidelines and watch.
Now, it seems, the word Dixie is offensive. Well EXCUSE ME, but damnit, my HOME is in Dixie and I am a red blooded Dixican and proud of it!

I am sick and tired of these “do-gooders” meddling in Southern Culture as if they had the right to revise history just any way they please.
The word Dixie has nothing whatsoever to do with racism, bigotry, or any of that other crap we southerners are accused of on an ongoing basis. If you “politically correct” people need somebody to feel superior to, then, by God, get professional help and leave the South alone!
Dixie is our home! You are invited to leave at any time. If you don’t have the funds, I feel sure some generous Southerners will be happy to buy you a bus ticket north, or west. Just get the heck out of DIXIE and stay out.
I’d like to see, some Southern Heritage organization(s) purchase a half-acre of land at the northern entrances to all the states, which comprise Dixie, and place two very large Southern Icons as a greeting to all travelers headed South. One, a huge Confederate Battle Flag flying from a 150 foot high pole and, two, a huge stone marker upon which would be placed the words: “WELCOME TO DIXIE!”. I’d like to see this set-up along side every Interstate Hiway as it enters the “Holy Land”… Dixie!
In the meantime, Dear Reader, if you cannot abide our Southern Culture, and our Southern Heritage, then stay the hell out of Dixie! We don’t want you!
Have a nice day!

I love the bumper sticker that displays a confederate flag, and reads "Heritage, Not Hatred."
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, we have better food, better weather, and friendlier people than the North. Then again, the farthest north I've ever travelled was North Carolina, as most of the travelling I've done was due to running track in college. Regardless, I hate cold weather and love my communities in south Louisiana, Cajun Country!!
Nah I'm up here in
ReplyDeleteOhio and were pretty friendly, South's water is Salty (near the beaches where I've been). An I have been all the way down to Galvestin (all be it a good 23 years ago). But Anyway back on point, the problem is not with History, it is with the groups (we know who they are) that misuse the symbols of the Confederacy that do your cause a big injustuce, same as a few hijackers disgraced the muslim religion, and Tim Mcvey a conservative Christian disgraced all of America! And yeah I am actually as liberal as they come.
